A Trilogy of Horrors
We are happy to announce our 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Show, A Trilogy of Horrors, was an official sell out!
This year we took ‘A Trilogy of Horrors’ to Edinburgh Fringe 2018, performing at the Scottish Story Telling Centre (Venue 30). Performing for one week, we faced the usual throngs of performers, weather and macaroni-pie diet in an effort to get the show out and noticed.
And the audiences came! Night after night we sold out, and whats more, received great audience feed back.
In part we can thank our success on our fantastic venue. The Scottish Story Telling Centre was great. Everyone there was more than professional and made the whole experience far more bearable. It’s a great venue, with great staff and we at TumbleDry Theatre thoroughly recommend them to storytellers and theatre companies alike.
Our Performers, Emma Kemp, Connor Jones and Erin Elkin worked hard alongside the director John Rushton to bring the show to life. Emma Kemp brought chills to the audience as ‘The Visitor’ in a Charles Dickens’s classic ghost story ‘The signal man’. Connor Jones revived his role as ‘Ishmael’ in Mary Shelley’s ‘Mortal Immortal’. And Erin Elkin brought a comedic yet eerie air to Edgar Allan Poe’s seminal piece ‘The Tell Tale Heart’.
This Fringe was also a real learning curve for the company, attending its first Edinburgh Fringe ‘Meet the media’ event. This day long event gave performers and companies the change to schmooze with the press and entice them to see and review shows. This was a really interesting and useful experience which we’ll definitely do again!
Edinburgh Fringes are always stressful, exhausting and very much a labour of love. But will we do it again? Of course!
